Cold Weather Company is a breakthrough act that has been swifty gaining newfound notoriety for their plethora of talents — and they’ve been working together for nearly a decade. The independent, New Jersey-based group has officially released their highly-anticipated new single, “Will Tomorrow Ever Come,” on Friday, August 11 with a brand-new official music video released on August 18, HERE. “Will Tomorrow Ever Come” is available now, HERE.

Composed of members Steve Shimchick, Jeff Petescia, and Brian Curry, Cold Weather Company began as a serendipitous park bench meeting at Rutgers University — later transforming into a trio of multi-instrumentalists and singer/songwriters. Four albums later and a more than 60-song discography, Cold Weather Company continues to showcase their artistic diversity and musical capabilities on their latest original, “Will Tomorrow Ever Come.”

To some, “Will Tomorrow Ever Come” might sound familiar — and that’s because the song comes following a collaboration between Cold Weather Company and Italian electronic music duo Mathame. The joint project between the acts, “Tomorrow,” which was co-written and sung by CWC, was included on Mathame’s latest studio album, MEMO. “Will Tomorrow Ever Come” is deeply melodic, warm, and performative; even drawing inspiration from the popular post-apocalyptic HBO series The Last Of Us. If you are familiar with Cold Weather Company’s Mathame collaboration, you’re in for a pleasant surprise with their piano and guitar-driven rendition that presents the story in a new light.

Will Tomorrow Ever Come” features bass by Riley Byrne and drums by Shane Luckenbaugh. It was co-written with Mathame’s Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli, recorded and mixed by Pat Noon of Eight16 Recording Studio, and mastered by Reuben Cohen of Lurssen Mastering. The song — complemented by a music video that will be released in mid-August — marks the next stage of Cold Weather Company, with a fifth full-length album due in early 2024.

“The song stems from ‘Tomorrow’ — a collaboration with Italian EDM duo Mathame that was released on their debut LP ‘MEMO’ in June. I co-wrote the lyrics with Mathame and sang on the track.

On ‘Will Tomorrow Ever Come,’ we [Cold Weather Company] wanted to maintain the melodic and lyrical foundation heard in ‘Tomorrow,’ but continue the story with a second verse and the piano/two guitars at the core of our music — in this instance one classical, one gritty electric. The writing timeline overlapped with episodes of HBO’s post-apocalyptic ‘The Last of Us,’ which found its way into the instrumentation style, as well as lyrics, to try and distill the questions of what or who we’re left with at the end of it all, and if it’s really the end.” — Steve Shimchick

ABOUT COLD WEATHER COMPANY:

Cold Weather Company blends the influences, experiences, and personalities of three singer-songwriters (Steve Shimchick, Jeff Petescia, and Brian Curry). What sprouted with a serendipitous park bench meeting at Rutgers University grew roots through dorm room and cabin recordings, branching out with performances near and far. With mirroring guitars on either side of the piano, the band’s symmetry reflects this balance between individuality and cohesion.

On their latest records and for select live shows, the trio is joined by percussion, brass, and strings — instrumentation that facilitates an expansion of their distinctive alt-folk landscape. Acoustic styling meets an electric feel that encompasses both planned and improvisational arrangements.

Love and respect for their craft supplemented by the innate desire to contribute to the dynamic world of music propels CWC as they approach their ten-year anniversary as a band. With more than 60 songs released and four full-length albums, CWC is excited to announce more music and performance dates this year, with a fifth full-length album due in early 2024.
